Independence or In- Dependence??

 I have been wondering what are we celebrating... 

Freedom? Independence? 

Did we really attain Independence or In-dependence of few powerful people, political goons and business tycoons? 

Freedom? What freedom do we have today? 

In a country where discrimination begins at birth... Do we practice Right to equality? 

Where laws are being created against a sect of people who choose to be differently sexually oriented... Do we practice Right to Freedom? 

Where child labor, child trafficking, human trafficking are flourishing businesses, and crime against women are increasing everyday putting us the second most unsafe place for women in the world... Do we practice Right against exploitation? 

Where even today, honour killing, religious clashes and riots take place... Do we practice Right to Freedom of religion? 

Where children are begging on the streets without education, youth taking alternate paths of 'quick money making' due to lack of jobs, farmers commit suicide due to debts and the big few suck all the prosperity of the country.... Do we practice Cultural and educational rights? 

I am grateful to the martyrs who fought and gave their lives to give India freedom from British rule.. And I would observe silence in respect of those who put their. Nation ahead of their individual benefits and interests. 

While we can continue celebrating our Freedom and Independence, I wanna ask... ARE WE REALLY INDEPENDENT AND FREE? Or have we just moved out of one rule and into another? 

Please don't rest and just celebrate this day! Resolve to be the change that can transform India into the one that YOU desire to see...
